Wafer papers are more rigid than frosting sheets and are made of a translucent material that can easily be printed with edible ink compatible printers. Unlike frosting sheets, wafer papers don’t have a backing peel. You can stick them to cakes, cookies, and other edible surfaces with the help of corn syrup or edible glue.
These edible sheets are only dissolvable in water and hence, are used often in liquid-based desserts like Jell-O, gelatin, marzipan and fruitcakes.
